LEXION 600 – the most powerful combine harvester on the market

A new LEXION is about to enter the field. The LEXION 600 is the combine harvester with the world's highest performance. The CLAAS family of machines has been a global synonym for modern and high-performance threshing since the first LEXION was launched in 1995. Over the course of a decade, 20,000 LEXIONs have been produced. The LEXION 600 is the new flagship of this generation.

Vario Cutterbars
The high-performance Vario cutter bar (9,12 m in width), which conveys the crop evenly to the threshing mechanism, enables the top throughput. Due to the optimized crop flow, output is increased by 10%. The cutter bar table can be seamlessly shortened by 10 cm or lengthened by 20cm when in crop. In oil seed rape the table can be moved forward by 50 cm, which saves valuable changeover-time.

The life cycles of the drive and the clutch are extended thanks to the automatic Soft-Start. Stand still is now a thing of the past, foreign bodies cannot affect the cutter bar brakes and cause damage to the machine. A clear view in dusty conditions is enabled by the dust extraction fan on the feeder housing that keeps visibility clear. The twelve row CONSPEED maize headers are matched to the high throughput of the LEXION combines. The conical snapping rollers are a particular feature of the CONSPEED headers, with a high picking rate and gentle treatment of the cobs.

Driving precisely with steering systems
Steering a combine is a routine task. However, the driver no longer has to worry about it as the approved steering systems on the LEXION, the GPS Pilot or the LASER Pilot, can take over. The driver can concentrate on the perfect setting of the machine. These highly-technical helpers mean fewer overlaps on the field and reduced fuel and time consumption as well as precise area recording and mapping.

Another device to reduce driver stress is the further development of the cutter bar guidance control. The cutter bar adjusts perfectly to the landscape. The regulation of the ground pressure is even more precise. The hydraulic pressure in the system is measured by sensors and it can react directly. Best damping for different front attachments is possible because of the valve-steered nitrogen tank.
The new throughput regulation CRUISE PILOT determines the ideal harvesting speed of the LEXION and can react to different crop densities. It is the first system that can react before it overloads. CRUISE PILOT measures the height in the feed rake, determines the motor's working load and adjusts the speed to the crop.

High-performance throughput
The combination of the tangential APS threshing system with ROTO PLUS secondary separation system enables the unequalled performance of the LEXION 600. The approved APS Threshing system has been refined once more in the new LEXION. The combination of the crop-flow-optimizing pre-accelerator, the 7/18 concave and chevron impeller operates failure-free under the toughest circumstances and thus leads to a higher output while preventing the crop from damage. The secondary separation is more effective thanks to the higher performance of the rotors. Electric blades adjust the rotor separation area to the harvesting conditions.

Large grain tank – quick discharge
The harvesting periods are extended by a 12,000l-grain tank. The discharge is accelerated; the new LEXION has a powerful discharge auger which increases the performance. The JET STREAM cleaning system, which is specially adapted to the ROTO PLUS grain separating system, ensures clean and high-quality crop.

Advanced straw chopping
Chopped straw is a valuable resource for the next growing season. The SPECIAL CUT II chopper operates with 108 knives, that are situated close together and sharpened on both blades and which, in addition with a horizontal cutter and a shear bar produce short chop.
An extra tilting friction element further improves the straw quality.

The chaff spreader fan feeds chaff and debris directly from the sieve pan to the power spreader. The chaff is fed into the active spreader without loading the chopper. The chaff is mixed with the chopped material and subsequently fed to the power spreader, which distributes this mixture in a uniform manner across a wide area with the minimum of effort, even when there is a large amount of straw to handle, when there is lots of cross wind, or when the machine is operating in hilly terrain.

Motor performance increased by 15%
The performance of the DaimlerChrysler engine in the LEXION has been increased by another 15%. The engine (16l / V8) with a maximum of 431kW/586hp works powerfully - when the revs drop by 100 rpm, 41kW/56hp of reserve power is unleashed. The electronic regulation of the engine leads to lowest specific fuel consumption. The cooling system comes with a hydraulically driven swing-out radiator screen which cleans the radiator constantly and automatically.

The 2-gear OVERDRIVE transmission operates in working or transporting gear and offers additional driving comfort. The time-consuming shifting of gears in hilly areas can be omitted.
Due to the transport speed of 30 km/h, the turnover rate on the road is reduced by up to 50%.
